RISE helps schools ATTRACT talent…
Job-seeking teachers with experience in and a commitment to education in low-income communities come to RISE to connect with teaching opportunities. Through an online application and phone interview, RISE screens candidates for:
- At least one year of full time teaching experience in a school serving a low-income community
- A valid teaching credential or enrollment in a credentialing program
- Belief that all students can achieve at high levels
- Attributes that demonstrate potential for success at Partner Schools
RISE Partner Schools connect with these quality teachers through an online, password protected network. School can post jobs, view candidate profiles (with resume, teacher statements about demonstrated success, and at least one reference evaluation), and connect with teachers.
Pre-screened candidates, an easy-to-use online network, and support from regional executive directors help school leaders save time in their hiring process.
And, RETAIN quality teachers.
School working conditions, more than anything else, determine whether a teacher stays or leaves. RISE works with the principal and a teacher leader at each school to implement a Teaching Conditions Survey that elicits teacher feedback and reflection.
The data is shared in person with each Partner School’s leadership team to facilitate discussion about strengths and areas for improvement and serve as a basis for school improvement planning.
RISE shares the same data with job seeking teachers on the RISE Network to help school leaders and teachers find the right fit.
RISE School Fees
Membership fees are $450 per school, which includes access to candidates, survey implementation and analysis, and personalized customer service from regional Executive Directors. RISE charges a fee of $1,200 per teacher hired through RISE.
RISE fees do not cover the actual operational costs for RISE, nor do they reflect the costs for a typical urban school to recruit, hire, process and train a new teacher, which has been estimated to be approximately $8,400 per teacher.*
